Understanding the Anti-Discrimination Ordinances in Hong Kong
Supported by : The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC)
The anti-discrimination ordinances have been implemented in Hong Kong for some years. As an initiative to help our members cope with situations where discrimination might become an issue in the course of daily business, AWAHK has invited representative from the Equal Opportunities Commission to speak at a seminar on Tuesday, 19th March 2019. This seminar aims at enhancing the understanding of the key concepts under the four anti-discrimination laws (including Sex Discrimination Ordinance, Disability Discrimination Ordinance, Family Status Discrimination Ordinance and Race Discrimination Ordinance) and exploring the legal liability for the unlawful acts. The speaker will also introduce personal liability of employees, vicarious liability of employers, defense for employers, and roles of staff in preventing discrimination at the seminar.
