Aug 31, 2023
On 31 July 2023, the Inland Revenue Department (“IRD”) issued a letter to all approved charitable organizations (“Approved Charities”) under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance ("IRO") as a reminder of potential profits tax liabilities from carrying on business or trade in Hong Kong.
Not all income derived by the Approved Charities are automatically exempt from tax, and the Approved charities may have tax reporting and withholding obligations. Any misstatement or under-reporting may lead to penalties or even revoking of tax exemption status.
In this seminar, we shall share our insight and practical experience in handling common tax issues faced by the Approved Charities and have interactive small group discussions with all participants.
This seminar will cover:
-Introduction of IRD’s latest charity tax guide
Common tax issues faced by the Approved Charities and case sharing
