The AFRC published the 2024 Oversight Report covering the assessment period from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 on the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA)’s performance of specified functions. The report is available on the AFRC’s website Oversight Report.
The report outlines the strategic objectives of our oversight function, which is to ensure the accountability, integrity, and effectiveness of the HKICPA in meeting its statutory responsibilities. This year, the AFRC focused on how the HKICPA supports the healthy development of the accounting profession in Hong Kong through its specified functions, as reflected in their principle-based findings and recommendations. These insights aim to enhance the profession’s standards and foster a robust regulatory environment which in turn contribute towards Hong Kong’s competitiveness as an international financial centre.
