According to the Hospital Authority, 12 women are diagnosed per day! Sad but that’s the real situation we are now facing.
Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF) founded in 2005 is the first non-profit organisation dedicated to mitigating the threat of breast cancer in the local community through education, patient support, research and advocacy. The HKBCF wishes to remain a broad platform that connects like-minded people who would join hands in the fight against breast cancer.
Pink Walk for Breast Health, its annual walkathon has reached over 2,000 participants at the Victoria Peak in the past years. In view of the social distancing measures which are still in place, the event was switched to a virtual base in 2020 – “Pink Together 2020”.
“Pink Together 2021” is now launched. It is an online fund-raising event, which provides wellness aficionados and public, who wish to give support to the local breast cancer community, an opportunity to exercise for a good cause and spread this goodwill to family and friends. AWAHK has been dedicated supporter for HKBCF and Pink Walk/Together in the past years. In the Pink Together 2020 event, AWAHK formed a team named “HK Women Accountants” which was comprised of 27 AWAHK members and friends. Total donation amounted HK$31,608 was raised for the event and contributed to those in need to fight breast cancer.
We shall continue to join hands together and support Pink Together 2021, aiming to raise donation for HKBCF and promote the importance of healthy life style, both mentally and physically.
